Yonanas! Say what?

What’s a Yonanas you ask? I’m delighted to tell you! My mother-in-law gifted us this frozen treat-making machine when we were visiting her last week. A Yonanas turns fruit into a tasty frozen treat. All of the recipes have a base of frozen banana (hence the name Yonanas). It comes with a booklet of recipes, but the possibilities are really endless. Dark chocolate, berries, coconut flakes, almond butter, chopped nuts. The sky’s the frozen treat limit!

Tonight I was thinking about those coconut pecan chocolate chunk brownies I made and how they really needed some ice cream. And then I remembered my Yonanas Elite. Tonight I pulled a frozen banana from the freezer drawer. (You’re going to want to keep a stock of bananas in the freezer for use in this machine. And they’re best when really ripe, so it’s a great option for bananas on the verge of going bad.)

I scraped back the peel and pushed it through the Yonana. Et voila! In about 5 seconds I had banana frozen yogurt on top of my brownie. Yum!
